Private Driver

Why book a private driver?
Margaret River doesn’t have Uber or public transport, and the local taxi fleet is small and often unable to cater to the high number of visitor the region received daily. Spanning over 100 km from north to south, Margaret River Region can be challenging to explore, especially if you want to experience the best cellar doors safely and stress-free.
With Oak Drive Co, you get your own private driver and guaranteed pick-up times. Everyone in your group can relax and enjoy the region’s 100+ cellar doors, with the added benefit of a local guide who turns every journey into a seamless and memorable experience.

How long do I need to book for?
We have a 4-hour minimum for all private driving services. You can always add more hours if you're having a great time!

Can I choose where we go?
Absolutely. This is your day, your way. You tell us where you'd like to go — wineries, breweries, beaches, galleries — and we’ll take you there. Prefer to leave it up to us? We can assist you with itinerary planning and reservations as well.

How many people can come?
We can accommodate up to 7 guests comfortably in our Mercedes Valente and up to 5 in our Honda Odyssey. For couples, we also have a compact option available.

Can I extend the booking on the day?
If we’re available, yes! Just chat with your driver and we’ll do our best to extend your time. Extra hours will be charged accordingly.

Which area do you service?
We’re based in Margaret River and operate throughout the region.
Pick-ups located more than 45km from the Margaret River township may incur a small additional fee — we’ll always let you know up front.

What is included in the private driver hourly rate?

Your rate covers private transportation and bottled water for the journey. Please note that tasting fees, attraction entry tickets, and any food or beverage costs are not included and are payable directly to the service providers, unless otherwise stated in the product description.

Transfers & Pick ups

Do you offer airport transfers?
Yes! We provide transfers to and from both Busselton Airport and Perth. 

What if my flight is delayed?
No worries — just let us know as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to adjust where we can. If delays impact other bookings, a small extra fee might apply, but we’ll always talk it through with you first.

Can I book a one-way pick-up or drop-off?
Absolutely. Whether it’s to a winery, dinner reservation, or just back to your accommodation, our pick-up and drop-off service is flexible. Because pricing depends on time and location, just contact us for a quick quote.

Do you operate early mornings or late at night?
We sure do — transfers between 6:00pm and 9:00am are available on request. Just let us know in advance so we can plan it properly (and have coffee ready!).

Vehicle & Comfort

What kind of cars do you use?
We have three vehicles — a Mercedes Valente and a Honda Odyssey, perfect for larger groups with plenty of room to stretch out, and a Honda HR-V, ideal for couples who prefer a more compact ride. All are clean, comfortable, and well cared for.

Are your vehicles spacious?
Yes! The Odyssey and Mercedes Valente are both roomy with sliding doors for easy access, and enough space for luggage, picnic baskets, or wine boxes. The HR-V is a great fit for couples looking for a relaxed ride with just the right amount of space.

Can I choose which vehicle I get?
Of course! If you have a preference, just let us know when booking — we’ll do our best to accommodate it, depending on availability.
Please note: pricing may vary depending on the vehicle selected.

Is the car just for us?
Absolutely. All bookings are private. You’ll never be sharing the ride with strangers. It’s your experience, start to finish.

Made to Match

What is the Made to Match service?
It’s our personalised planning service designed to create your perfect day in Margaret River. We’ll chat with you to understand your tastes, interests, and timing, then craft a tailored itinerary with thoughtful recommendations, bookings, and all the little touches that make it special

Is there a cost for this service?
No! Made to Match is a complimentary service available with our half-day and full-day experiences. It includes a one-on-one consultation, personalised itinerary planning, and us taking care of reservations where needed. We’ll ensure your day flows beautifully and everything is lined up for a seamless experience.

Do I have to know where I want to go?Not at all. Whether you have a full wish-list or no idea where to begin, we’re here to guide you. Think of it as local insight paired with thoughtful planning — all designed just for you.

Good to know

How do I pay?
You can pay by credit card (credit card surcharge applies) or bank transfer to avoid the fee.

 

Do I need to pay everything upfront?
Not quite! To secure your booking, we require a 50% deposit at the time of reservation. The remaining balance is due 14 days before your service date. If you book less than 14 days before your service, then full payment is required upfront.

If you go over the time booked on the day, we’ll just settle the extra at the end. Easy!

What happens if I cancel?
We get it — plans change. Our cancellation policy is:

  • Private Driver: Full refund with 72+ hours’ notice (minus a 3% booking fee for online reservations).

  • Transfers: Full refund with 7+ days’ notice (same 3% fee applies)

  • After that? 100% cancellation fee applies as we’ve already reserved the time for you.​


Can I get a refund if I finish early?
All bookings are based on the time you reserve. If you finish up early, that’s totally okay, but the unused time is non-refundable, since we’ve set it aside just for you.
