WHAT I OFFER
I am Bianchi, and Oak Drive Co. is a private wine tour and driver service in the Margaret River region. Every tour is one I drive myself. Twenty years across boutique and luxury hotels, and the wine industry, taught me the difference between a good day out and a day that's actually planned around the people having it.​​

Most days are about wine, because that's what people come here for. But the Margaret River Region isn't only wineries - Boranup Forest, the coast at Gnarabup or Eagle Bay, the lighthouse at Cape Leeuwin, a farmers market on a Saturday. If wine isn't the point of your day, it doesn't have to be.

The Valente seats up to seven, and it's one group at a time. No strangers, no shared schedule. Pick-ups run across Margaret River, Dunsborough, Yallingup, Busselton, Augusta, Cowaramup, Wilyabrup and everywhere in between as well as from Perth.
WHY I DRIVE
I chose Margaret River because it's a strange kind of place - quiet, small-town, and yet there's always something happening: a well-known destination with real depth to it, incredible wine, food, places to go. I've driven the same roads here more times than I can count, and the landscape still catches me off guard. That doesn't wear off.

What actually got me into this business wasn't the wine, though - it was watching visitors struggle with the opposite problem. There's no shortage of information about Margaret River, but still, the region is vast, and every corner of it is particular in its own way - which cellar door, which forest, which beach, which cave, in what order, on what day. Even with everything available online, people still arrive uncertain about how to actually spend their time here.
I started Oak Drive Co. to be the answer to that - someone who already knows the region well enough to make the choice easier. Right now, every tour is mine to drive - there's no handoff, no second driver you might get instead. What you get is what I'd want if I were the one booking - that's the only real standard I hold myself to.

Point to point, across the Margaret River region, and long distance transfers to and from Perth.
Every Season
Summer is hot and dry, and the coast is where the region gathers - from Meelup and Bunker Bay to Gracetown, Prevelly, Hamelin Bay, and Flinders Bay. Toward the end of it, the first grapes come off the vines; vintage usually starts with the whites in late February, and the wineries start smelling like fermentation instead of flowers.

Autumn is when the reds are picked, through March and into April, and most people who live here will tell you it's the best month to visit. The crowds have thinned, the light goes gold earlier in the evening, and the sunsets over the water get a particular glassy quality you don't see in summer.

Winter is wet - July is the wettest month by far, but it's not a season to avoid. The forests hold their green, the whales pass close to the coast from June right through into spring, and there's a real case for a log fire and a glass of red being the best version of a Margaret River afternoon, not the worst.

Spring turns the wildflowers loose, usually from August through November - thousands of species across the region, some found nowhere else on earth. The beaches fill back up before summer does, and the wineries that spent winter quiet start setting extra tables again.
Four seasons, four different versions of the same place. None of them is the right one.
